SilkyAmber is a small home based cattery located in Sarasota, Florida.

The whole journey started when I adopted my very first Toyger "Tigrusha" - a pet name for Tiger's in Russian - and brought him home. I was fascinated by the breed that was still in development and I decided to become a part of the breeding program. This is how Silky Amber Toygers Cattery got its start and was established. This was the name of the game for many years until I discovered the Maine Coon breed, I fell in love with their coats, colors and affectionate personalities.

Since then, I slowly put my toyger business to rest and have started to care for and breed Maine Coons full-time. I am proud to be one of the TICA registered Maine Coon catteries in the world and am always gushing about how wonderful this breed is. It is truly beyond marvelous, sturdy, and a sight to behold.

Every single one of our Maine Coons is raised at home as part of the family. The food we feed our cats is also carefully selected, and our cats from birth up until they go onto their new homes are always around people so that they are accustomed to such things when they move into their new homes!
